Services are held on Sundays 9:30am and Thursdays 10.30am, both in the St Francis Hall on our site at 168 Stanmore Road, Avonside. There’s parking at the end of the driveway.
Everyone is welcome. Our services are now held in our St Francis Hall, a pleasant wooden building visible as you come up the driveway from Stanmore Road. The one hall serves at present for worship, morning tea and for many meetings during the week. The hall varies from comfortably full most weeks, to quite cosy on some special occasions, but there is always room for a few more! We have plans for new church, but in the meantime we’re very fortunate to have our Hall that serves us pretty well for most things.
How to use this website:
The black strip just above here has menu items for accessing various information. The ‘Events Blog’ is a log of coming and past events. The others should be self-explanatory.
You can look at current and recent editions of our ‘Grapevine’ pewsheet, check the rosters to see when you’re on duty during a service, or find recent sermons delivered during services. Click on any menu item to see where it leads.
News of the moment:
Feb 2014: A Valentine’s Day event was held on Friday evening 14 Feb – Valentine’s Day, from about 5:30 to 7:30
Food was provided with egyptian-style falafel sandwiches, and with sausages from the barbecue. Hot and cold drinks were on offer in the Hall.
A DJ provided music for a children’s disco.
Puppeteer xxx provided a puppet show for the children.
Weather was perfect – sunny with shade under our big tree, mild temperatures, with light winds getting calmer during the event.
About 40 children and a similar number of adults attended.
The event, entertainment and food and drink was entirely free to all, this being helped by financial contributions from CERA.
A very successful event. See photos at here
